ESCAMBIA COUNTY
AMATEUR RADIO EMERGENCY SERVICE (A.R.E.S.)
Escambia County ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service) is a group of local, FCC-licensed amateur radio operators who volunteer their time to help provide reliable communications when it’s needed most.
When storms, emergencies, or major events disrupt normal phone and internet service, ARES members can step in with radio-based communications to help pass important information and support community response efforts.
ARES is focused on preparedness—not just during hurricane season, but year-round—through training, organized procedures, and regular on-air practice.
By staying active and ready, Escambia County ARES helps strengthen local emergency communications and ensures there are capable volunteers available to serve Escambia County and the State of Florida when the community needs them.
