FFARA Invites the Public to ARRL Field Day 2026 at the Escambia County EOC

FFARA Field Day 2026 Update

The Five Flags Amateur Radio Association is excited to announce updated plans for ARRL Field Day 2026, one of the biggest amateur radio events of the year and a great opportunity to practice emergency communications, test equipment, operate in the field, and introduce the public to amateur radio.

ARRL Field Day 2026 will be held June 27–28, 2026. Field Day is always held on the fourth full weekend in June, beginning at 1800 UTC Saturday and running through 2059 UTC Sunday.

Event Location

This year, FFARA Field Day activities will be held at:

Escambia County Emergency Operations Center
6575 North W Street
Pensacola, FL 32505

This event is open to the public, and everyone of all ages is welcome. Whether you are a licensed amateur radio operator, interested in emergency communications, curious about radio, or just looking for a family-friendly community event, we invite you to stop by and see amateur radio in action.

Field Day is all about operating under “field conditions,” making contacts, sharpening emergency communications skills, and showing the public how amateur radio can provide valuable communications support when normal systems are unavailable.

Partner Agencies and Organizations

Several local emergency response and preparedness organizations are expected to participate or be represented, including:

  • ESAR — Escambia Search and Rescue
  • Escambia County Emergency Management
  • Be Ready Alliance Coordinating for Emergencies — BRACE

This is a great opportunity for amateur radio operators, emergency communications volunteers, public safety partners, and community members to come together, learn from each other, and strengthen local preparedness.

Get On The Air Station

FFARA will also have a GOTA Station — Get On The Air Station available during Field Day.

The GOTA Station gives visitors, new hams, inactive operators, youth, families, and anyone curious about amateur radio a chance to get on the air with help from experienced operators. If you have ever wanted to try amateur radio, this is a great opportunity to sit down at a radio, make a contact, and see what the hobby is all about.
